STENCILLING*

A stencil is a thin sheet of material, such as paper, plastic, or metal, with letters or a design cut from it, used to produce the letters or design on an underlying surface by applying pigment through the cut-out holes in the material. The key advantage of a stencil is that it can be reused to repeatedly and rapidly produce the same letters or design. The design produced with a stencil is also called a stencil. The context in which stencil is used makes clear which meaning is intended.

BANKSY

Banksy is a pseudonymous England-based graffiti artist, political activist, film director, and painter.

His street art and subversive remarks to combine irreverent contraversial humor with graffiti done with a stencilling technique. Such artistic works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world.

Banksy's work was born of the Bristol which involved collaborations between artists and musicians. Some people  have noticed that his style is similar to Blek le Rat who began to work with stencils in 1981 in Paris  However Banksy himself stated on his website that in all actuality he based his work on that of , 3D from Massive Attack stating, "No, I copied 3D from Massive Attack. He can actually draw."

I thought that i need to have a try at stencilling using photoshop, to keep in my theme it was crucial to choose one of my artist which i selected in the beginning, i followed a tutorial on youtube. this is what the image looked like before i stencilled it.

  

What i need to do is cut out the stencil and paint it.

I cut out my stencil and i used poster paints in an assort of colours to make the image pop i really like the way this looked but do not think i woould use this in my final outcome for my CD cover or logo.
